The Rush That Never Ended book

Sections of the book include 'The Gold-Seekers', "Copper Men and Silver Kings', 'Resurgence", 'Age of Giants'.   Illustrated with Maps such as 'Australia, showing the chief mining districts' and 26 Plates.  For the fourth edition, new chapters were written on changes in mining between the early 1970s and the early 1990s.   They included the tapping of natural gas on the North-West Shelf, the emergence of Australia as the world's largest producer of diamonds, the finding of the huge Olympic Dam field in South Australia, the swift revival of gold mining, the ups and down of uranium mining, the powerful role of the environmental crusade, and the return of the mining industry to the level of national importance it held at the turn of the century.  For this fifth edition, a section has been written on the state of Australia mining at the start of the new century.
