Shipping Information
Shipping charges include packaging and delivery. We use Australia Post to deliver your Australian gifts and souvenirs. Shipping charges are based on the packaging, total weight, cubic size of your order, and destination. Shipping charges for purchases up to 15kg in weight are automatically calculated and displayed when checking out (payment screen). For any purchase or combined purchases weighing in excess of 15kg we will contact you by email with the shipping charge for your authorisation before your order is despatched. If you telephone, fax (use the the order form) or email us your order (i.e not use the website to place an order) we will contact you via email to confirm the shipping charge before your order is despatched.
Incorrect delivery address details may result in your purchases being delayed or not being delivered, so please ensure your delivery address details are correct including the post/zip code. Please provide us the mailing address your postal authority uses to deliver your mail, if you are in a multi-story building and your mail goes to a post box or locked bag give us that address. The cost of having to resend your purchase due to incorrect delivery address details are your responsibility.
Tip: For some items the cost of delivery is not more expensive for multiple items. For example, the cost of delivery for two bookmarks may be the same as the cost of delivery for one bookmark. The same for some magnets and other small items. The cost of delivery for a second tea towel may only be A$1 more (within Australia) than the delivery cost for a single tea towel.
You can check the calculated delivery cost when you go to 'My Cart' and enter your country and post code. You are not comitted to the purchase at this stage - not until you enter your payment details which is part of the 'Checkout' process. For countries that do not use a post code such as Kuwait and Hong Kong enter 0000 as the post code.
Australia
For deliveries within New South Wales allow 3 - 5 business days. For deliveries within Australia excluding New South Wales allow 5 - 8 business days. A signature is required for most of our deliveries. If you are not home to take delivery a card will be left advising you to collect your parcel at the Post Office. If you know you will not be home, have your parcel sent to work, be sure to use your employer's Australia Post address - a post box or locked bag if your employer has one or the correct floor where the mail goes to a multi-storey building (refer to "Delivery Address" on the order form or "checkout screen").
Express Post delivery is available as a delivery option but is more expensive. If the order and payment is received prior to 1pm (Sydney time ) Express Post will deliver to:

Sydney addresses overnight, and

Brisbane or Melbourne addresses - generally two nights,

delivery to other destinations is via fastest possible delivery i.e. not an overnight service.
The above delivery times are a guide only as we have no control over Australia Post, and as a result we cannot guarantee to deliver by a certain date.
International
We use Australia Post Air Mail for overseas orders. Allow 6 - 15 business days for despatch and delivery depending on the destination. As a guide allow approximately 7 business days for delivery to New Zealand, approximately 10 business days to Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore, approximately 12 business days to the United Kingdom, parts of Western Europe and the United States of America, approximately 14 business days to the Middle East, and South Africa. This assumes there are no delays by Customs Authorities. Delivery times may be longer in peak mail periods such as the period leading up to Christmas.
Please note from Monday 22nd November 2010 a A$9 surcharge has been added by Australia Post for all parcels weighing over 453 grams (16 ounces) being sent to the USA. In addition to the new A$9 surcharge new security measures will add around 48 hours to the delivery time of parcels being sent to the USA. Please allow extra time for parcels to be delivered to the USA - approx. 12 working days. We have had to increase our overseas freight charges as a result of this price increase by Australia Post. Australiana Online apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.
An Express Post International option is also available but is considerably more expensive for packages up to 2kg. Above 2kg the cost is not that much more than Air Mail. We use the Express Post International (EPI) service provided by Australia Post. The cost of Express Post International is a flat rate up to 2kg (excluding the $9 USA security surcharge) i.e. the cost is the same if you send a parcel weighing 500gm or 2 kg.
If you are not in a hurry to receive your order we can send your order to some countries (not available to NZ or Asia/Pacific) via Sea Mail but be prepared to wait a month or more for delivery (depending on destination). Sea Mail is less expensive than Air Mail and we will refund the difference in the freight charge to your credit card. If you require Sea Mail please type "Sea Mail" in the "Additional Information" section at the bottom of the order form.
We cannot control what the postal service or the Customs Authorities here and overseas do and how long they take, hence we cannot guarantee to deliver by a certain date. Whilst we take great care to package/wrap your order Customs may open or unwrap your package for inspection.
As Customs laws and duties vary from country to country any customs duties, tariffs, taxes, or other charges incurred, or delays or confiscations by Customs authorities in the purchaser's country are the responsibility of the purchaser. If you are unsure about purchasing an item we would advise you to check with your local Customs Authority before placing an order as we do not provide a refund when items are refused due to Customs regulations.
